A Look Back at 2025
This collection brings together a year of moments with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and stories, photographed both in the studio and out in the country parks I return to again and again.
Some sessions were light and playful, full of movement. Others unfolded at a slower pace, with space for quiet observation. Some dogs arrived full of confidence; others needed time, patience, and room to settle. Each one brought something different. No two sessions ever felt the same.
In the studio, the focus shifts inward. Clean backdrops and soft light make space to really see the small details, a particular posture, the set of the ears, a quiet look that reveals something familiar and true. It’s often where character rises to the surface. Where a head tilt or a single glance says everything.
Out in the country parks, the energy changes. Dogs stretch out into the space, wandering, sniffing, pausing, running. These sessions tend to reflect who a dog is in their everyday world: relaxed, curious, tuned in to their surroundings or simply content to be outdoors with their person. As the seasons changed, so did the feel of each session; from long, warm evenings to the soft, winter light.
What ties all of these photographs together isn’t a specific location or style, but relationship. The trust between dog and human. The quiet familiarity built over time. The way meaning settles into the ordinary shared routines, small adventures, the daily rhythm of companionship.
This work is not about posed moments or perfect behaviour. It’s about seeing dogs as they are, within the life they share with you. Looking back at 2025, I’m reminded how much richness lives in the day-to-day and how powerful it can be to preserve it with care.
