Perfect Dog Photography

A basic sit and a short stay can help, especially in the studio, but it isn’t required. I work with dogs of all abilities, and we move at your dog’s pace. The priority is always comfort, and we never put your dog under pressure for a photo.

That’s more common than you might think. I work with a lot of patience, and I won’t put a dog through anything they’re not comfortable with. I can also photograph from a distance, which often helps dogs relax because they are not aware they are being photographed.

Black coats can be more challenging, but they can photograph beautifully with the right light and exposure. With years of experience, I know how to keep detail and shape in darker coats, both outdoors and in the studio, so your finished artwork reflects your dog properly.

If the weather makes an outdoor session impractical, we reschedule. It’s unusual for us to lose a date entirely, but when it happens, there’s no charge to reschedule the session.

That’s completely fine. A large proportion of sessions include some images taken with a lead in place for safety. With the right setup and careful editing, we can create natural-looking portraits without compromising on control or your dog’s comfort.

A session is built around creating a calm, well-paced experience for you and your dog. It includes time for your dog to settle, the photography itself, and a follow-up ordering appointment where you choose how you would like your images finished and displayed. The emphasis is always on quality, patience, and creating photographs that feel considered rather than rushed.

Sessions take place either at my studio in Caergwrle or at a nearby country park. A location of your choice is an option, at an additional cost for mileage and time. The location is agreed in advance and chosen based on what will suit your dog best and the style of images you are drawn to.

Most clients book several weeks in advance. Availability varies throughout the year, so it’s best to get in touch as soon as you are considering a session. This allows time to talk through your dog and your expectations, and to plan a session date that feels right rather than rushed.

Sessions are booked with a session fee, which includes your time at the photoshoot and an ordering appointment to view your images. Artwork and finished products are purchased separately, allowing you to choose pieces that suit your home and budget. Full pricing and options are discussed clearly before you book, so there are no surprises.
